The #Logos experiment

Aim: The aim of this project is to investigate how product labelling affects online decisions of 1200 residents in Spain, Germany and the Czech Republic. The results will help the European Commission to design innovative public policies.

Research team:  #Logos is designed by researchers of the University of Valencia and the IPTS of the JRC of the European Commission. 

Type of the experiment: #Logos is an online experiment. You can participate from any computer or tablet with an  Internet connection. 

Duration: The approximate duration is 15 minutes

Payment: For your participation you will receive a guaranteed payment of 5€. In addition you have the chance to win a smartphone with a value of 399€. 

Anonimity: Your decisions will be anonymous and will not be connected to your identity. If you have any doubts you can read our privacy policies or contact us at lineex@uv.es. The experiment has been approved by the Ethic Commity of the University of Valencia

Participation is free: There are no costs neither for participating nor for receiving the payment. 

Who can participate?

Profile of participants: Anyone who has bought a smartphone in the last 5 years and lives in Spain, Germany or Czech Republic can take part in the #Logos experiment.

What will you do in the experiment?

At the beginning of the experiment you will receive an email with a link to start the experiment. Once you click on the link your decisions will be anonymous.

  • In the beginning you will be informed about the simulated situation in the experiment and about the payment you will receive for your decisions. 
  • From that moment on you should only be yourself. There are no correct or incorrect answers. The experiment aims to investigate how product labelling affects how European citizens behave in a simulated online environment.
  • All you need to use during the experiment is a computer or a tablet. Neither microphones nor webcams are used to record any data.
  • The duration of the experiment depends on yourself. The average time is 15 minutes.
  • When you finish the experiment, you will receive your payment via PayPal. If you don't have a PayPal account you can create one here for free. 

What can I earn?

For your participation you receive a guaranteed payment of 5€. On top of that, some participants will have the chance to win a smartphone valued of 399€. Furthermore, you will help the European Commission to create innovative public policies for consumers.

 

How can I earn the smartphone?

Once you have finished the experiment, you will receive a personal code. You should keep this code until the day of the lottery. The lottery will happen in March 2020. By that time we will send you an email with instructions on how to check if you are one of the winners.
